Location: Hybrid - 3 days/week in-office at Bangalore EGL 

Responsibilities:

• This is a dual Quality Engineer / Frontend role

• Provide technical operations support through driving best practices, Automation Strategizing, Enabling Developers to build with quality, challenging the status quo.

• Use CI/CD and automation tools to improve operational efficiency across the YFinance product, engineering and design organization

• Handle basic frontend maintenance of internal tools and technical operation systems

• Write basic HTML, CSS and frontend code to augment internal tools and modify test cases accordingly 

• Translate customer requirements into technical operations strategy and plans

• Drive creation of scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks across CI/CD, quality platforms and developer experience areas

• Create runbooks where automation is too expensive or technically complex

• Create runbooks for the triage of incidents, outages, and debugging

• Collaborate across quality engineering and product engineering teams to automate operations tasks, improve efficiency of existing pipelines and processes, and improve efficiency of product execution

• Leverage and augment quality platforms to improve quality on technical operations systems

• Ensure that tech ops systems and tools meet organizational standards in terms of functional, performance, security, integration, data integrity, privacy, accessibility, and legal requirements

• Provide on-call product support for the Yahoo Finance web and native apps

• Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

• Mentor and lead mid-level and junior QA automation engineers on your team on automation best practices and processes

• Working closely with Development, Business Analysts and the Product Owners to ensure project success.

About You:

•  A minimum of 5+  years of experience in software testing, knowledge of the software development life cycle and Agile methodology like Scrum/Kanban

• 7+ years of combined experience in Web Automation Frameworks and CI/CD

• Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration Tools (e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Travis CI, Harness.io, Argo CD, etc)

• Deep experience with Automation Testing Frameworks such as: Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, WebdriverIO, Appio

• Strong technical competency in Javascript, TypeScript, ES6 or nodejs

• Experience with one modern frontend framework (React, Angular, Vue or Svelte)

• Experience writing basic HTML and CSS

• Experience in building UI Test Automation Frameworks and libraries

• Strong knowledge of source control tools, like git or github

• Experience with one or more Test Case Management Tools (Rally, Quality Center/ALM, TestRail, etc.)

• Experience in Postman, Eclipse, Maven, TestNG or respective open source or similar tools are preferred

• Understanding of QA practices (white and black box testing, risk based testing, system testing, regression testing, exploratory testing practices)

• Proficient in using JIRA to log defects, develop test scenarios, execution and create status reports/dashboards

• Understanding of test beds, test environments, test data and execution setup

• Proficient in performing the cross browser testing using any cross browser tool like Browser stack or saucelabs for Local and Other environments

• Proficiency in participating in Root Cause Analysis sessions to identify and address underlying issues

• Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with various types of testing, including smoke, white box, black box, integration, end-to-end, regression, and system testing
