As a Sr Systems Engineer you will play the role of a Atlassian Cloud Administrator to help manage and optimize our Atlassian Cloud environment, with a primary focus on Jira Service Management and Assets. This role is critical to ensuring our IT service delivery processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business needs. In addition you will:
- Administer and configure Atlassian Cloud products, primarily Jira Service Management and Assets.
- Design, implement, and maintain custom workflows, automation rules, SLAs, and request types in JSM.
- Design and implement various automations to optimize system performance.
- Manage Asset schemas, object types, attributes, and automation within the Assets module.
- Collaborate with ITSM, DevOps, and business teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Atlassian solutions.
- Ensure data integrity and governance across Jira and Assets.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing support and training to users.
- Maintain user permissions, groups, and roles in accordance with security policies.
- Stay current with Atlassian Cloud updates and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements.
- Manage Atlassian Analytics.
- Develop and Support integrations with other tools
You are a fast learner and are comfortable working with little direction. You take initiative and bring up ideas. In addition you have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience administering Atlassian Cloud products, specifically Jira Service Management.
- Deep understanding of ITSM practices and how they map to JSM capabilities.
- Strong hand-on experience with Assets including schema design, object management, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of Jira Query Language (JQL), automation rules, and custom field configurations.
- Experience with Atlassian Access, user provisioning, and SSO integrations.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and scripting (e.g., Groovy, PowerShell, or Python) for automation and integration.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
