Role Responsibilities
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications, ensuring secure, automated, and repeatable deployments across environments.
- Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to provision and maintain scalable, resilient environments.
- Automate operational workflows for build, test, release, and monitoring, reducing manual effort and improving delivery speed.
- Champion observability and reliability by implementing logging, metrics, and tracing solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
- Optimize cloud resources and costs while ensuring compliance with Pfizer's security and governance standards.
- Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps best practices, improve developer experience, and accelerate delivery cycles.
- Drive containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes for consistent, portable deployments.
- Implement security controls and compliance checks in pipelines (DevSecOps), including vulnerability scanning and policy enforcement.
- Mentor engineers and advocate for a DevOps culture, fostering automation, continuous improvement, and shared ownership of reliability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years in Software Engineering roles.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins for automated build, test, and deployment.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Bicep, or similar for cloud resource provisioning and environment consistency.
- Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) including deployment strategies and scaling.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry) for system health and reliability.
- Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in GitOps workflows for declarative deployments and environment drift management.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices including security scanning (SAST/SCA/DAST) and policy enforcement in pipelines.
- Advanced Kubernetes operations such as multi-tenancy, autoscaling policies, and cluster optimization.
- Experience in regulated environments (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR) with compliance automation and audit readiness.
