Role Description:
We are seeking a Staff Supply Chain Analyst with advanced reporting and analytics expertise and a deep proficiency in Power BI tools to join our team. In this senior role, you will not only provide critical insights through robust data research and reporting but also serve as a facilitator within the analytics function—mentoring team members, establishing team-wide best practices, and guiding end-to-end analytics projects to drive insight guided choice-making in the Operations team.
Your work will directly impact internal stakeholders and external customers—including Merchants, Finance, and Operations teams—by delivering reports and dashboards that enable smarter, faster choices. Working with these stakeholders, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency of our standard operating procedures, and building technical solutions to deliver on our stated goals.
This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain Analytics and is a key bridge between stakeholders and technical teams, combining deep business knowledge, insightful thinking, and l collaboration to enhance how ShipBob uses data to grow and improve.
What you’ll do:
- Design, build, and maintain tooling for use by on the floor warehouse associates and fulfillment center partners to enhance standard workflows and improve efficiency.
- Build predictive models using advanced statistical models and machine learning to drive a more proactive vs reactive operating culture.
- Develop proof of concept tools and processes to support key accounts and initiatives where there may be gaps in our existing product feature set.
- Develop and promote reporting and data governance best practices, standards, and processes across the analytics team to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Mentor and support other team members, providing technical guidance, peer reviews, and professional development.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Data team to build enhanced unified data models to democratize and promote source of truth metrics and data models.
- Respond to ad hoc data requests and insights, supporting operational needs and strategic initiatives as they arise.
- Foster strong partnerships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring analytics work is aligned with company goals.
- Leverage and implement AI tools like Copilot to automate and streamline analytics tasks.
- Other duties/responsibilities as necessary.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or Similar required.
- 6+ years of experience in core data/business analytics using SQL/Power BI/Excel.
- Able to work with stakeholders and customers to understand their needs and own development of reporting and data supported solutions to address these specific needs and use cases.
- Creative problem solver, ability to handle multiple projects, and excellent work ethic needed.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic startup environment and can navigate the ambiguities that come with it.
- Familiarity with supply chain operations and fulfillment processes preferred.
