Department OverviewSupplier development engineering focuses on improving the performance and capabilities of a company's suppliers to meet business needs and objectives, leading to better quality, and a stronger supply chain.
Job Description
- Performance Management: Conduct regular quality reviews with suppliers to monitor and analyze quality performance metrics.
- NPI & Qualification: Support new part and process qualifications in collaboration with Development Engineering and Supply Chain Engineering teams.
- Issue Resolution: Lead complex root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions for supplier-related quality failures.
- Quality and Technical Auditing: Perform Quality System Audits and leading Technical Capability Assessments of EMS and mechanical assembly suppliers.
- Conflict Resolution: Develop effective recovery actions and remedies for quality disputes spanning from SMT to final backend assembly processes.

Basic Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering, specifically within EMS environments (PCBA, SMT) and complex mechanical assembly (enclosures, precision machining, or electromechanical integration).
- Technical Toolset: Expertise in pFMEA, 8D methodology, 5-Whys, and Fishbone analysis. Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) including Cp/Cpk analysis.
- Audit Expertise: Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or ISO 13485) preferred.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of both SMT and backend (final box build/mechanical assembly) manufacturing flows.
- Communication: Proven ability to influence external suppliers and collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve disputes.
