Join us as a Software QA Engineer, where you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of next-generation optical networking solutions. In this role, you will design and implement comprehensive test strategies and automation frameworks for Optical DWDM equipment and protocols, including OTN, GBE, DWDM, and NBI interfaces (YANG, NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC), along with system security.
You will contribute across the testing lifecycle by performing both manual and automated testing, while driving continuous integration and execution to enable faster, high-quality releases. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment, with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and impact.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the development of comprehensive test plans for Layer 0 (DWDM) and Layer 1 (OTN, Ethernet) across Long Haul, DCI, and Metro optical systems
- Execute protocol-based testing across L0 and L1 features, including (but not limited to) FCAPS, NBI automation, and system security
- Participate actively in the system development lifecycle by understanding requirements and translating them into detailed, effective test plans
- Support the evaluation and qualification of next-generation operating systems aligned with modern architectures such as microservices and containerization
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize test scenarios based on customer needs and enable faster feature delivery
- Design and implement automated test scenarios using standard programming tools to enable scalable, repeatable test execution
- Drive continuous testing practices to strengthen system reliability and product quality
- Take ownership of product qualification deliverables, demonstrating accountability and a proactive, self-driven approach
You have:

- Proficiency in test planning, execution, and defect tracking using standard configuration and test management tools
- Strong programming skills in Python (or a similar language) for developing and maintaining test automation frameworks
- Hands-on experience with NBI interfaces (CLI, NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC) in embedded system environments
Nice-to -have:
- Understanding of system control plane concepts and working knowledge of L2/L3 networking products is an added advantage
