Morningstar is strengthening its early talent strategy to build a sustainable pipeline of future leaders. We are looking for a Campus & Fresher Hiring Lead at a Team Lead level who will design, execute, and institutionalize a differentiated strategy for campus engagement and fresher hiring across India.
The mandate is to go beyond transactional hiring drives-this individual will create enduring partnerships with campuses, expand sourcing channels for freshers, and deliver high-quality, diverse early talent to meet Morningstar's long-term business needs.
Responsibilities:
Campus Strategy & Engagement
- Identify, prioritize, and engage with campuses aligned to business needs (management, technology, analytics, and niche skills).
- Build a tiered campus engagement plan (core, aspirational, emerging campuses) to balance quality, diversity, and scalability.
- Position Morningstar as an employer of choice through consistent engagement (lectures, workshops, case studies, competitions).
- Nurture long-term partnerships with faculty, placement officers, alumni, and student communities.
Fresher Hiring & Pipelines
- Drive fresher hiring efforts beyond campuses, including open market entry-level hiring, walk-ins, return-to-work internships, and partnerships with skilling platforms.
- Create scalable talent pools for entry-level hiring across roles and functions.
- Collaborate with business and workforce planning teams to forecast fresher demand and ensure readiness of supply.
- Design and implement structured fresher assessments and onboarding programs to enable successful integration.
Execution & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end execution of early talent hiring drives: forecasting, branding, assessments, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
- Ensure best-in-class candidate experience that reflects Morningstar's values.
- Monitor and improve outcomes such as offer-to-join ratios, quality of hire, retention, and diversity.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Build policies, SOPs, and playbooks to standardize campus and fresher hiring processes.
- Introduce innovative hiring practices (digital campaigns, hackathons, AI-driven assessments, skills-based hiring).
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and coach a small team of recruiters/associates responsible for execution.
- Partner closely with business leaders and HR to align early talent hiring with strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with global teams to leverage best practices in early talent programs.
Basic Qualifications
- 8-12 years of overall Talent Acquisition experience, with at least 5 years in campus and fresher hiring.
- Proven ability to build structured campus programs and fresher pipelines (beyond one-off drives).
- Experience in diverse sourcing channels for early talent (campus, skilling programs, direct fresher pools).
- Strong stakeholder management skills with credibility across senior leaders, external partners, and student groups.
Skills & Attributes
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance immediate fresher needs with long-term talent pipeline goals.
- Strong relationship builder with both institutional partners and candidates.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Passion for early talent development and enabling meaningful career starts.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- Morningstar is a preferred employer across selected campuses and fresher talent pools.
- Consistent inflow of high-quality, diverse early talent aligned with business needs.
- A repeatable playbook for both campus and fresher hiring is established.
- Measurable improvement in candidate experience, retention, and diversity outcomes.
- Business leaders view early talent hiring as a strategic advantage, not a transactional process.
