Project Manager - PMEC
This role is an integral part of the ZS Global Project Management Expertise Center (PMEC), a team of over 150 professionals committed to driving project success. In this dynamic environment, the Project Manager will contribute to the organization's effectiveness while gaining opportunities for growth by collaborating with experts across various domains and applying best practices. What you'll do:
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with 4-7 years of experience to oversee the successful delivery of large-scale technology projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for plan, track, monitor and report, projects while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. You will be expected to lead teams, manage risks, and ensure that project goals are met on time and within the budget.

• Project Governance Setup: Define and implement project processes as per the delivery methodology (Waterfall, Agile, kanban etc.). Tailor the processes as per project and client nuances.
• Project Planning and Tracking: Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and effective tracking of progress.
• Implement standard Agile Framework (commonly used is scrum): Lead Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, and promote continuous improvement. Implement and oversee Agile frameworks, including sprint boards, velocity tracking, burndown charts, and retrospectives.
• Tool and Process Management: Manage (and implement where required) project management tools like Jira, Confluence, and MPP, ensuring effective task and issue tracking.
• Risk Management & Mitigation: Identify, track, and report project risks. Work with delivery teams to align on mitigation strategy and initiate mitigation plans as needed. Analyze impact of risks on project timelines, budget and scope. Use RAID logs and Agile risk boards for effective risk management.
• Change and Scope Management: Monitor scope changes, assess impacts on timelines and budgets, and implement necessary adjustments while maintaining alignment with client expectations.
• Project Communication: Define a balanced communication plan to ensure clear and timely information is available with key stakeholders and decision makers. Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues promptly to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Documentation & Reporting: Manage project documentation needs (functional, technical, compliance and governance)
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with horizontal, vertical and regional teams to ensure smooth project handovers, coordinated status updates, and effective dependency management across multiple teams and time zones.
• Capacity & Task Management: Assign and track tasks. Manage team capacity to ensure optimum utilization.
• Stakeholder & Dependency Management: Build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and vendors. Ensure smooth coordination, address dependencies, and resolve issues to maintain project flow.
• Budget Tracking and Monitoring: Track and monitor project budget. Collaborate with delivery lead to make necessary adjustments (resource, scope, timelines...) to maintain financial health.
• Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Management: Leverage retrospectives and feedback to enhance project delivery processes. Maintain and update project documentation, ensuring alignment with Agile best practices.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring: Provide guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive team culture. Support professional development and ensure adherence to project management best practices.

What you'll bring:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience in Project Management, or a master's degree/MBA in Project Management or a related field.
• Project Management Expertise: Strong grasp of Project Management processes, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and tools.
• Tools Expertise: Advanced knowledge of project management tools such as MPP, JIRA, Azure DevOps Confluence, and MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Technical Project Management: Prior experience of managing technology implementations is essential (SDLC, Agile frameworks, etc.)
• Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, CSM certifications highly preferred.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, executive presence, coupled with the ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Self-Motivation & Organization: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.
• Proactive Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential challenges and implement solutions to address them before they affect project timelines.
