Description 

We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer with DBA experience to provide enterprise- level assistance to our global customers. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, optimizing database performance, and ensuring seamless functionality of the Striim platform.
Responsibilities

  • Resolve customer-reported issues and provide timely support.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple open cases efficiently.
  • Follow up to ensure IT systems are fully functional post-troubleshooting.
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Assist the Development and QA teams in reproducing customer issues.
  • Verify bug fixes and provide detailed feedback.
  • Guide customers through patch implementation and software upgrades.
  • Address customer inquiries related to software usage.
  • Isolate issues and collaborate with internal teams for resolution.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles.
  • Set up and manage internal systems (Docker, RDBMS, etc.).
  • Train and mentor support teams.

You will use a support ticket tracking system and JIRA for daily activities. For complexissues, you will engage with customers via Zoom or provide clear, written instructions and technical documentation.

Requirements

Experience: 6 to 15 years  in customer support within the technology industry

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering.

Technical Skills:

Database Expertise: Extensive DBA-level experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar RDBMS.

Replication Knowledge: Proficiency in PostgreSQL streaming/logical replication, Oracle DataGuard, and GoldenGate.

OS & Networking: Strong UNIX/Linux expertise with a solid understanding of networking, storage, security, and tiered application environments.

ETL & Data Warehousing: Familiarity with ETL processes and data management.

Preferred Skills

Programming experience with Java and Python and exposure with cloud Platforms such as Azure and GCP.

Messaging Systems: Hands-on experience with Kafka and JMS.

DBaaS Experience: Previous experience developing Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS).

Microsoft, Cisco, or Linux certifications are advantageous.
