Job Details:Job Description: Creates clear, accurate, and concise hardware aligned technical content by leveraging technical writing principles, resources, technologies, and tools. Analyzes and improves complex subject matter, leveraging direct product experience as well as product specifications. Researches, organizes, and writes easy to comprehend documentation that simplifies complex technical concepts into content consumable by all, ensuring appropriate syntax, style, and grammatical usage of data. Defines and manages projects from start to finish for self or a small team. Organizes and prioritizes work and schedule according to the business goals, product release cycle, and customer needs. Reconciles conflicting inputs, content priorities and deadlines with stakeholders. Verifies that technical content is accurate, clear, and complete. Ensures it adheres to standards for graphics, layout, format, style, terminology, and overall quality. Maintains a thorough understanding of content publishing and lifecycle processes. Creates application notes, user guides, manuals, product descriptions, catalogs, brochures and promotional papers, often working across product lines. Supports preparation of illustrative material, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.Qualifications:In this position as a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for defining and implementing product documentation strategy for Intel client and Intel server customer enabling products. You will develop documentation user guides, technical reference manuals, getting started guides, External Design Specifications, Platform Design Guides (PDG). This will include the conversion of content from different formats to support a more dynamic experience for customer to consume content and help clients and Server enable their custom designs quickly using Intel products. As a technical writer, you will be an integral part of a client product development and release team and will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SME) engineers and other project stakeholders to develop customer enabling content for both offline and online web use. You will work with SMEs to define gaps in existing content and develop and implement a plan to execute. You will attend planning and/or coordination meetings to assess customer requirements and define appropriate content solutions.
Responsibilities will include the following:
You will be required to generate product documentation from scratch by understanding product workflows, interfacing with SMEs, or from engineering specifications, and determine appropriate format, structure, syntax, and style, as well as adhere to legal guidelines. You will be using latest authoring tools and technologies, such as SDL Dita publishing tools, Adobe FrameMaker, RoboHelp, MadCap Flare, Word, and other various formats and Content management systems to create, manage, and publish your content. In addition to excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills, this position requires an ability to work with not only the local teams but also remote teams in different time zones Ex: Pacific, Central, Eastern Time in United States and with SMEs and peers who speak English as their first language, and Asia where the primary language is not English but communication are in English.
Minimum Requirements:
• You must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Technical Writing, Technical Communications, or a related field, OR engineering degrees with excellent English skills.
• 5 plus years of experience designing, writing, and publishing technical documentation, with at least 1 year of technical documentation in hardware/semiconductor field.
• 4 plus years of demonstrable experience on Windows and one of the other operating systems, like Linux or Unix OS.
• 4 plus years of experience using standard authoring tools and/or technologies.
