Forward Financing is a Boston-based financial technology company with an operational hub in the Dominican Republic, on a mission to unlock the capital that fuels small businesses across America. Recognized as a Best Place to Work by Built In Boston and certified as a Great Place To Work®, Forward is investing in its employees, technology, and customer experience – with long-term success in mind every step of the way.
We are hiring our first dedicated Treasury resource to design and lead the treasury function, manage our structured financing operations, and ensure disciplined, scalable cash and liquidity management across the business. We manage an increasingly complex capital structure that currently includes a warehouse credit facility with top-tier institutional investors, but may also soon include securitizations, forward flow arrangements, and/or corporate notes.
As Treasury Director, you will report to the CFO and will play a central role in managing the company’s funding and liquidity operations. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day execution across multiple credit facilities and will help scale the function in line with our origination growth primarily of revenue-based financing (RBF), and evolving capital needs. This role requires deep technical knowledge of structured credit in non-traditional lending environments and the ability to build processes, systems, and relationships from the ground up.
In this role you will:
Structured Credit & Capital Operations
Partner with Portfolio Accounting team on daily management of all warehouse lending and forward flow arrangements, including borrowing base calculations, eligibility testing, collateral file management, and funding operations
Ensure compliance with facility-level requirements: reporting, covenants, concentration limits, cash traps, and waterfall triggers
Support structuring, modeling, and execution of securitizations and renewals of forward flow agreements, including managing interactions with rating agencies and trustees
Coordinate closely with the Strategy & Finance and Legal teams on new deal execution, amendments, and investor onboarding
Cash & Liquidity Management
Build and maintain granular, product-specific cash forecasting models that reflect the nuances of RBF and other products with similar repayment behavior
Monitor and manage facility utilization, excess availability, and borrowing efficiency across a growing portfolio
Oversee daily treasury operations, including fund disbursement, reserve management, and reconciliation of servicing and remittance activity
Infrastructure & Controls
Implement scalable treasury systems, processes, and controls to support high transaction volumes and investor reporting standards
Develop dashboards and analytics to provide real-time visibility into cash flow, funding runway, and facility performance
Establish audit-ready procedures and internal controls over treasury functions, including segregation of duties and compliance documentation
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and Servicing teams to align on capital strategy, data integrity, and financial operations
Support internal and external audits, investor due diligence, and corporate-level reporting on treasury, liquidity, and funding
Act as a strategic advisor to the CFO on capital allocation, deal structuring, and long-term funding planning
(Even if you don’t check every box, but see yourself contributing, please apply.)
8+ years of treasury, capital markets, or structured finance experience, ideally within a small business lender or fintech focused on RBF and/or loan products
Strong understanding of warehouse facilities, ABS securitizations, and forward flow arrangements, including eligibility criteria, borrowing base dynamics, and waterfall mechanics
Experience managing high-velocity, short-duration receivables and irregular repayment patterns typical of RBF products
Hands-on familiarity with financial and operational data flows from servicing platforms into credit facilities
Advanced modeling, Excel, and reporting skills (SQL and dashboard tools a plus)
Exercises extreme attention to detail; is thorough, accurate, organized, and productive and seeks to understand both the cause and effect of a situation
Self-motivated with strong work ethic, proactivity, desire to learn, and the ability to produce high-quality outputs
Excellent communication, organization, and project management capabilities
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or CTP a plus
