The Senior Distinguished I, Software Engineer, Information Security, leads the design and implementation of scalable, secure software architectures aligned with business objectives. This role involves comprehensive analysis, solution design, and development of advanced security controls and frameworks across cloud-native environments. The position requires expertise in coding standards, threat modeling, and application security to enhance system resilience and performance. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the engineer drives innovation, ensures adherence to quality and security standards, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to safeguard enterprise systems and data integrity.
About the team:
The team leads critical security initiatives focused on AI security and safety, conducting thorough implementation reviews and setting technical direction. It develops components that enhance Walmart’s AI security posture by leveraging expertise in development, security technologies, and analytics. Collaboration fosters innovation in automation and cyber engineering, ensuring secure and efficient operations. By integrating advanced security practices and data-driven insights, the team continuously strengthens system infrastructure and performance, supporting Walmart’s commitment to maintaining reliable and protected information systems across its technology environment.
What you'll do:

• Analyze and scope requirements using risk analysis, traceability matrices, and business objectives to develop long-term software solutions.
• Design scalable, secure software architectures aligned with customer needs and industry standards.
• Develop reusable frameworks and detailed module designs to support large-scale, multi-product programs.
• Drive coding standards and implement minimalistic, optimized code to enhance application security and functionality.
• Lead test strategy development, execution, and defect management to ensure high-quality, secure software delivery.
• Oversee DevOps practices, application monitoring, and maintenance to sustain system performance and security.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business problems into effective technology solutions.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in software architecture, solution design, and scalable distributed systems.
• Proficiency in cybersecurity systems, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and application security.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
• Expertise in threat modeling, security controls, and enterprise security frameworks.
• Ability to analyze and translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
• Knowledge of coding standards, testing methodologies, and defect management processes.
• Experience with DevOps tools, telemetry, and automation to enhance software quality and security.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $320,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
