As the Vice President of Engineering & Architecture, you will be a visionary leader responsible for defining and executing the strategic direction for Toast's product and engineering initiatives. You will lead the development of innovative, scalable solutions that directly contribute to our business objectives and deliver significant value to our customers. Beyond your technical acumen, you will be a key driver in attracting and nurturing top-tier talent, cultivating a high-performance culture, and inspiring your teams to achieve exceptional results in execution, innovation, and overall impact.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the global architectural vision for a scalable, cloud-native platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and continuous improvement
- Lead, attract, and retain top engineering and product talent, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture
- Optimize engineering efficiency and ensure timely, high-quality delivery through robust practices like automation, DevOps, and data-driven decision-making
- Leverage AI to drive transformative automation and power new, impactful customer-facing innovations
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and align technical and product strategies with overall business objectives, owning key performance indicators related to product success and business impact
Requirements:
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing technology teams
- Deep expertise in software development, cloud computing, microservices & security
- Experience with generative AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Strong ability to translate technical concepts into business value and strategic impact
- Exceptional stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of the fintech, banking, or payments industry is a plus
- B.Tech/M. Tech in computer science, information technology, or a related field; an MBA from a Tier 1 school would be a bonus
Work Mode: This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
