Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Software Engineer for John Deere in Johnston, IA, you will:
- Lead and deliver the Quality, Performance and Scalability needs of the EQUIP Product;
- Lead and help improve the development process and support the agile/scrum delivery process;
- Lead the PB SMEs group and perform SME role;
- Lead and perform EQUIP Tier 3 support;
- Work with various team/members to help solve EQUIP performance issues;
- Oversee the Technical EQUIP release management, environment management and configuration management (version control);
- Provide development and support for various EQUIP System Interfaces.
- Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 20% remote work allowed.
What Skills You Need
- 5 years of experience in use PowerBuilder Coding to design, build and maintain data driven application using PowerScript and PowerBuilder Foundation Class
- 3 years of experience in Agile practice and implementing in projects to facilitate collaboration, continuous improvement and delivery
- 3 years of experience with Github functionalities, including managing repositories, branching strategies, code collaboration, identifying and rectifying the code while reviewing and fixing the code conflict
- 3 years of experience in proficiency in using Visual Studio integrated IDE (including C# and PowerShell) to design, code, debug and deploy application and services including web, desktop and cloud
- 3 years of experience in DevOps skills for automating and streamlining the process, including building and maintaining continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines using Git
- 3 years of experience in database and SQL knowledge for query optimization, performance tuning, requiring in depth knowledge of Sybase SQL and database administration process
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics or related field or foreign academic equivalent plus 6 years related experience.
