Your Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Engineer for JD Des Moines Works located in Ankeny, IA, you will:
- Address and Resolve Equipment Failures: Swiftly respond to and assist in resolving equipment breakdowns and emergency situations. Post repair, conduct a thorough analysis of the breakdown and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
- Monitor and Analyze Equipment Data: Gather, clean, analyze, and interpret data to evaluate equipment performance. Identify potential issues early and implement corrective actions to prevent larger problems, aiding the organization in making informed decisions and solving operational challenges effectively
- Represent the Maintenance Function Throughout the Equipment Acquisition Process: Act as the representative for the maintenance function during the equipment acquisition process, encompassing both the Product Development Process (PDP) and the Order Fulfillment Process (OFP). Responsibilities include ensuring the implementation of Preventative Maintenance plans, stocking spare parts, execution the training strategy, and more
- Manage Expense Store and Spare Parts Strategy: Oversee the contract management of the expense store and develop a strategic approach for spare parts inventory to ensure availability, cost-efficiency, and minimal downtime

What Skills You Need
- 3 or more years Track record of technical proficiency to include a deep understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and machinery, as well as the ability to efficiently diagnose and fix equipment issues
- Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and communication skills - able to distill complex problems into component parts and develop a path forward
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting equipment data
What Makes You Standout
- 3 or more years of experience with manufacturing and facility equipment, including machining centers, laser and press brake equipment, paint systems, air compressors, and more
- 3 or more years of applying technical proficiency to include a deep understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and machinery, as well as the ability to efficiently diagnose and fix equipment issues
- 3 or more years of applying strong problem solving, strategic thinking and communication skills - able to distill complex problems into component parts and develop a path forward
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting equipment data
- 3 or more years of experience using root cause analysis and corrective action principles, tools and processes
- 3 or more years of experience utilizing project management skills to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial approach - launch early prototypes, learn, and iterate
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial) and certifications or equivalent related work experience
