Works cross functionally to develop and maintain standard cost components for NuSil Technology LLC and its subsidiaries including material, labor, overhead, freight and packaging.
Analyze and review labor and overhead rates monthly.
Calculate and record monthly cost of sales, purchase price variance, labor and overhead absorption.
Calculate and record monthly inventory reserves in accordance with established policy.
Monitor and report on any significant production variances and/or operations run-rate variances.
Directly responsible for development of Cost of Sales budget based on sales volume forecasts from each business unit and departmental expense budgets provided by Financial Planning and Analysis.
Directly responsible for forecasting Cost of Sales on a monthly basis.
Prepare and analyze product costs as requested for new and existing products. Determine profitability margins, escalate production issues and identify potential cost savings.
Maintains company inventory control procedures.
Prepare ad hoc cost analysis reports to assist financial and operational leadership in decision-making.
Provides financial and accounting oversight to company cycle count program and address inventory control issues.
Provides cost analysis results to assist financial leadership in decision making.
Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost against standard/budget; research and explain variances; report this information monthly or as needed.
Monitors, analyzes and reports on inventory valuation, production and various other costs.
Interact with Production Control to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date.
Evaluates and implements changes to procedures to improve efficiencies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 3 years applicable management accounting experience
ERP system experience
Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office – specifically Excel (Pivot Tables, Data Connections, Advanced Formulas)
Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems, SAP preferred
Knowledge of Oracle Project Management system (Agile)
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Strong organizational skills and documentation skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time, problem solve, and work as part of a team are crucial
Detail oriented
Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
High energy and eagerness to demonstrate personal initiative
Flexibility and adaptability to a changing work environment and enthusiasm for continued learning
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
