Associate Director, Applications System Development

As a leader at Global Payments, you will take responsibility for the delivery of business-critical products. We are looking for someone to manage a delivery team that can lead innovation, drive improvements, set technical direction, and consistently meet the needs of the business.
You will:
- Manage technical talent acquisition, growth and retention
- Work with product and key stakeholders to set desired product roadmaps
- Drive critical improvements to stay ahead of the growing business needs
- Evaluate new technologies and delivery practices
- Drive accurate and efficient project estimates
- Create project plans, identify dependencies and risks, and allocate resources
- Develop capacity plans and skills assessments
- Stay up to date on the latest security threats and secure application design and coding practices
- Manage third party consultants
- Lead the design, craftsmanship, availability, resilience, security and scalability of your solutions
- Foster a culture to stay on top of technology trends and participate in technology communities
- Encourage innovation, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
- Lead and mentor a team of development, quality assurance, and support engineers
- Simultaneously drive multiple large initiatives potentially across multiple scrum teams
- Prepare and present technical presentations and project status
- Provide required information for the annual budget

What Are We Looking For in This Role?
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree. Relevant experience or degree in Software Engineering related field of study from an accredited university is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Typically, a minimum of 15 years related professional experience including a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
- 10 or more years’ experience in software development and delivery using Java
