Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.         .
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
  • Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

You'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionize our digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences.
To be successful Automation Tester you should have experience with:

  • Strong hands-on testing expertise: Functional Testing, Regression Testing, System Testing, Integration Testing, and Defect Management.
  • Automation experience: Selenium, TestNG, Hybrid Frameworks, Java (or equivalent automation technologies).
  • Technical skills: SQL, API Testing (REST/SOAP), CI/CD tools (GIT), and test management tools.
  • Test tools proficiency: JIRA, Confluence, ALM/Test Management platforms.
  • Agile delivery experience: Working knowledge of Scrum/Agile methodologies and participation in sprint ceremonies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to investigate complex issues, validate data, and identify root causes.
  • Independently deliver testing activities: Capable of handling assigned projects/modules with minimal supervision.
  • Domain knowledge: Banking and financial services experience preferred.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Technical validation: Perform detailed validation of application functionality, data flows, APIs, and database testing using SQL and relevant testing tools.
  • Defect management: Log, track, retest, and verify defects; collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and Test Leads to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Quality assurance: Ensure delivered functionality meets business requirements, acceptance criteria, and defined quality standards.
  • Continuous improvement: Follow testing standards, best practices, and Agile methodologies while contributing to process improvements and knowledge sharing.
