Our Consulting Engineers are an integral part of the Customer Experience (CX) team delivering Lifecycle Services to our customers! We combine the power of Cisco Analytics and Knowledge with the outstanding technical expertise and consulting (that's you) to drive value, innovation, and adoption in our customer's network. We help them to reduce risk, drive innovation, and enhance their network to meet business objectives. We are the customer's trusted advisor and guide, helping the customer understand their network, reduce risks, and take advantage of the technology. We work closely with Cisco Engineering to advocate for innovation for our customer and as a liaison, share what is coming with our customers to help them be the groundbreakers of technology.

Your Impact

This role requires you to be self-motivated, flexible and to be able to balance multiple projects at the same time. As a Consulting Engineer, you will help drive the effort to transform our current and future architecture for our customers. In addition to day-to-day customer activities, training and mentoring other engineers will be required. Bring your creative solutions and be an asset to our team!

Responsibilities:

• Associate with customers along with appropriate internal and external resources (e.g. Cisco account teams, partners) on the strategy/deployment/optimization of Cisco services and solutions.
• Takes ownership of task/project implementation for assigned engagements.
• Implement new techniques and methodologies utilized in customer delivery and share lessons learned with the broader team.
• Builds and reviews project work e.g. Design recommendations, High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, Implementation/ Change Management Plans.
• Builds and/or use test environments as the need arises to resolve sophisticated problems & compatibility issues.
• Demonstrates software skills and tools to configure, deploy and/or tackle Cisco products and solutions.
• Acts as a focal point for problem resolution for assigned customer engagements. Assures accurate and quick resolution of major customer problems across an appropriate range of technologies.
• Proven thought leadership to design, write and publish technical documents, train and mentor team members.
• Deeply aligned to current Industry trends and emerging market shifts.
• Drive Cross-functional internal collaboration across Pre-sales, Product Management and engineering for strategic outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications –

• 12+ years of relevant experience in technical lifecycle service including Planning, Design, Implementation, and Optimization of Mobile Wireless Solutions for Service Providers. 
• Experienced in End-to-end Mobility Architectures, with a baseline focus on 4G/5G mobile packet core (LTE & 5GC), Virtualized Applications (VNFs / CNFs). 
• Proficient and good knowledge in packet core nodes like-(S-GW, P-GW, MME, GGSN, SGSN ePDG, VoWiFI including CUPS and 5G NSA architecture etc. 
• Good understanding or experience in 5G- Core( SMF/UPF/AMF/PCF) and its call flows will be added advantage. 
• Proficient and working experience in Cloud and Virtualization technologies such as Dockers and Kubernetes, Amazon Web services, Openshift, and Cisco VIM. 
• Solid grasp of the 3GPP standards and mobility architecture of both 4G and 5G networks with a solid grasp of the call flows. 
• Good technical writing skills and have experience in writing high and low-level designs (including drawings), test, MOP, and implementation plans. 
• Excellent communications skills, experience working directly with customers, and ability to relate to customer representatives at various levels. 
• The candidate is a distributed team member often working with people from different cultures and geographies and effectively collaborates with internal Cisco.
• Preferred proficiency in understanding of Cisco UCS stack deployment.
• Preferred R&S understanding with Cisco’s networking certification – CCNP.
• Automation experience in leveraging AI for workflow automation.
• Ability to lead High-level support, analyse and diagnose complex Mobility Solutions in multi-vendor environment.
• Execution of Lab trials, report critical findings and collaborate with stakeholders for release plans of SWs.
• Understanding of Cisco Business Critical Services and lifecycle services.

Shift Requirement

• Must be willing to work in a swing shift to support customers across the Americas (AMER) region.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to influence, motivate and work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment to drive outcomes based plans, programs and execution.

• Hands-on experience with 5G Packet Core call flows and load testing.

• Proficiency in Cisco products like SORA, SLM, ASR55K, StarOS, VPC-DI, Ultra-M, CVIM, CNDP, CPS, UCS, Nexus, Catalyst.

• Networking Certifications like CCIE/CCNP, Devnet, CKA, RHOSP, RHOCP etc. Certifications in AI/ML/Agents/MCP/DevOps.

• Experience in Cisco delivery for software risk analysis, security vulnerability analysis, network health check reports, internal data base and reviews.
