Netrix Global is looking for a Data Engineer II with strong technical fundamentals and a growth mindset, interested in building expertise in Power BI analytics and reporting, supported by solid data engineering practices. This role sits at the intersection of business reporting, data pipelines, and enterprise systems, supporting internal analytics needs and key business applications.
The engineer will primarily focus on designing and maintaining Power BI reports, datasets, and reporting infrastructure, while also supporting ETL pipelines that feed analytics and reports. The role includes assisting with data integration and reporting for platforms such as Kimble (Kantata), Salesforce Lightning, and Quickbase, with no requirement for deep prior expertise.
The ideal candidate is technically curious, resourceful, and motivated to grow into end‑to‑end ownership of reporting and data solutions, making this role well suited for an early‑career engineer seeking hands‑on exposure to production Power BI environments, business stakeholders, cross‑platform integrations, and enterprise‑scale data operations.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets using visualization and performance best practices.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable, accurate reporting solutions.
- Build and maintain Power BI semantic models, ensuring consistent metrics and data definitions.
- Implement data validation checks and document reporting logic for reliability and reuse.
- Design, build, and support ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and report data sources for performance and reliability.
- Support data integration and reporting across systems such as Kimble (Kantata), Salesforce, and Quickbase.
- Contribute to data governance, security, and continuous improvement initiatives in Azure environments.
What You Will Bring To The Table
We are looking for an engineer who operates with ownership, curiosity, and accountability. Success in this role requires more than completing assigned tasks. It requires recognizing gaps, identifying opportunities for improvement, and proactively moving work forward.
- Demonstrates strong self-direction and resourcefulness, using documentation, experimentation, and collaboration to solve problems rather than waiting for step-by-step instruction.
- Takes ownership of systems and outcomes, not just individual tickets, and follows work through to completion.
- Adapts quickly to evolving technologies, tools, and responsibilities, with a mindset focused on continuous skill expansion.
- Collaborates effectively across technical and non-technical teams, sharing knowledge and contributing to a supportive engineering culture.
- Balances independence with communication, escalating risks early, and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Thrives in an environment where priorities evolve and engineers are trusted to help shape solutions.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI report and dataset development.
- Solid understanding of data modeling (fact/dimension tables).
- Working familiarity with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake is preferred.
- Familiarity with Python or PySpark for data manipulation is a plus.
- Understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar systems and learn new platforms quickly.
- Exposure to enterprise SaaS platforms such as Salesforce or Quickbase is a plus.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Work Schedule: This role is based in India and supports US-based teams. To provide real-time collaboration with end users, the engineer is expected to maintain a consistent daily overlap with US Central Time. The working schedule will align with Indian evening hours and extend until 11:00 AM US Central Time. This is a late shift, not an overnight shift, and is designed to provide predictable hours while ensuring strong coverage for US operations. Exact start times may be adjusted slightly to support work-life balance while maintaining required coverage.
