ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Software Center of Expertise plays a key role in SES digital transformation by delivering high quality software. The global team consists of system architects, software engineers, software architects, test & integration engineers. We are looking for an experience Data Science Software Architect to drive innovation and modelling of our satellite network traffic models. You will bridge the gap between data science innovation and scalable software engineering. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

• Work with demand management team to design & develop features needed to fulfil product requirements
• Architect, design and implement data processing and ML systems to model and predict network behavior
• Lead the development of data pipelines, model serving infrastructure, and real-time inference architectures.
• Implement and safekeep the software architecture of high-quality software by actively participating in all stages of software development lifecycle
• Interface with internal stakeholders to define software requirements
• Propose new and innovative methods to improve existing software architecture
• Stay-up to date and do a qualitative assessment on relevance of new technologies as well as determine applicability for SES
• Present proposed solutions for issued raised in a coherent manner that considers all system needs and influences
• Guide other team members in performing thorough testing and maintenance of the existing code base through the implementation of unit tests and creation of test plans.
• Engage in peer reviews of Pull Requests to ensure code quality, share insights, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall codebase
• Perform demonstrations to stakeholders and customers, showcasing the developed solutions and addressing any inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction
• Onboard, train and mentor new team members, ensuring a smooth integration into projects
• Coordinate and share information and knowledge with other development teams and test teams, fostering effective communication within the team
• Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with team members and subject matter experts, contributing to a collaborative and learning-oriented environment
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, capturing key aspects of the software development process and system architecture for future reference and knowledge transfer
• Foster and enhance culture of collaboration and excellence in everything

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor or Master's degree in computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunication, or Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of relevant work experience, encompassing design, developing, and testing software including large set of data processing and analysis
• Strong programming skills in python (numpy, pandas)
• Knowledge of feature engineering, data preprocessing, and model evaluation
• Familiarity with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc.
• Understanding of statistical modeling, A/B testing, and data-driven experimentation
• Understanding of data storage and access (data lakes, warehouses, NoSQL, SQL)
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, with a preference for Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of cloud orchestration tools, technologies, and API standards.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of data mesh or data fabric principles.
