Develop mechanical design concepts, specifications, drawings, BOMs, and 3D models using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools. Perform stress analyses, simulations, and virtual testing under static and dynamic loads. Create technical documentation, research design methods, and collaborate with manufacturing and product teams. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets while applying knowledge of GD&T, welding, sheet metal, weldments, hydraulics, structural design, and manufacturing processes.
- Develop design concepts, specifications, drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Perform stress analysis and understand mechanics of materials under static and dynamic loads
- Execute mechanical designs using CAD/CAM and 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or equivalent)
- Conduct simulations and virtual testing to refine designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and product management
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications and reports.
- Research and implement new design methods and technologies.
Requirements
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution
- 3-6 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in heavy engineering or material handling equipment
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, welding symbols, sheet metal, and weldment design, Hydraulic Systems
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and structural design
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- Self-motivated with attention to detail and initiative
- SAP Knowledge will be an advantage
