About the Team

As part of our global expansion, we are launching a Global Sales Hub in Bangalore to drive revenue growth across multiple regions. This hub will play a crucial role in accelerating our SME sales efforts worldwide. We are seeking dynamic sales leaders to build and scale a world-class sales team that delivers impactful results.

About the Role

As Director, Global Sales, you will be responsible for establishing and scaling a high-performing global sales hub. You will lead the end-to-end setup of the hub, including defining the commercial strategy, sales processes, organizational structure, and operating model. You will oversee sales teams focused on driving revenue from global SME clients across regions, ensuring the hub consistently achieves its KPIs and sales targets.

This is a pivotal leadership role at Airwallex, directly contributing to our global revenue growth. You will set strategic direction, instill operational excellence, and foster cross-regional collaboration. Your leadership will ensure alignment with global go-to-market priorities and drive execution across the full sales funnel—from lead sourcing to deal closure.

Given the global nature of this role, you will need to be flexible in working across multiple time zones and thoughtfully balance your hours across different timezones and teams in a way that enables high impact engagement across all teams.

This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of four days per week in our Bangalore office.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up the Hub
    Setup the Bangalore sales hub, including hiring, onboarding, and ramping up regional sales managers and AE teams.

  • Drive Performance Across Regions
    Ensure the Bangalore-based teams that are focusing on different regions (e.g., Europe, America, Australia/New Zealand, etc.) meet pipeline, revenue, and conversion goals.

  • Sales Operations & Process Excellence
    Define and optimize sales processes, workflows, cadences, and reporting for high productivity.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Closely work with local teams in different regions to effectively pivot strategies and align the hub sales team in a way to deliver overall regional targets.

  • Talent Development
    Create career development pathways for Bangalore-based sales talent through coaching, mentoring, and structured performance feedback.

Who You Are

  • 12-15 years of experience, with 5+ years in leading large global sales teams.

  • Experience scaling international sales operations or hubs.

  • Prior exposure to selling SaaS, fintech, or platform products is preferable.

  • Strong grasp of CRM (e.g., Salesforce), automation, and AI-enabled sales tools.

  • Proven ability to build high-performing, metrics-driven sales teams from scratch.

  • Excellent cross-cultural leadership and communication skills.
