Overview:
Transfer Solutions is responsible for driving Mastercard’s expansion into new payment flows such as Disbursements & Remittances. The team is working on creating a market-leading money transfer proposition, Mastercard Move, to power the next generation of payments between people and businesses, whether money is moving domestically or across borders, by delivering the ability to pay and get paid with choice, transparency, and flexibility.
The Product & Engineering teams within Transfer Solutions are responsible for designing, developing, launching, and maintaining products and services designed to capture these flows from a wide range of customer segments. By addressing customer pain points for domestic and cross-border transfers, the goal is to scale Mastercard’s Disbursements & Remittances business, trebling volume over the next 4 years.

ROLE:
Our Technical Program Managers (TPM) conceptualize, rationalize, and drive multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work throughout our scrum execution model. In this role, you can dive as deep as you wish into the tech stack, integration patterns, organizational capabilities, and the company-wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems. You will contribute to the strategies, design choices, and even the cloud infrastructure necessary to build credible and achievable execution plans for delivering our customers' high-profile new features and capabilities. You may oversee the execution of a feature through the full stack or manage a project that spans multiple teams and integrations, reporting meaningful status updates along the way
• Lead a global team of individual contributors and potentially first-level managers who are conceptualizing, rationalizing, and driving multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work
• Drive overall strategy and teams inside and outside of your organization to deliver the expected results
• Deep understanding of the platform, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems
• Create a data driven and continuous learning culture across your organization and use this data to drive incremental improvements
• Continuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators on the organization’s score card and move them in a positive direction
• Think strategically, but stay on top of tactical execution rigorously inspecting the delivery plans and execution metrics of your TPMs using your own tech depth and business acumen to assess risks and continuously raising the delivery bar
• Build and cultivate strong internal relationships and teach others how to determine performance and leadership bar
ALL ABOUT YOU
• Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy on projects that have ambiguity
• Experience and proficiency with cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, NoSQL databases), microservice design, near real-time, scalable fault tolerant platform design, API design, and distributed systems operations in a DevOps model
• Experience with XP, TDD and BDD in the software development processes
• Extensive experience delivering technical programs so you know where to look to find all the potential landmines
• Extensive experience in breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering technical programs in agile delivery models (scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Enjoys diving deep to understand of the platform’s capabilities and underlying technologies and providing input and helping manage the engineering teams deliverables
• Maniacally focusing on representing engineering teams in various forums (including technical design forums), enabling engineering team to focus on what they enjoy the most (building software)
• Proven track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams
• Can debate the delivery strategy with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers across multiple projects being ran concurrently
• Can communicate complex issues & decisions in a clear and concise summary to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity
• Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing dependent teams while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization
• Huge plus if you have expertise in Payments, IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, CI/CD, NoSQL databases, microservices APIs, and distributed systems operations in a DevOps model
• BS in engineering, computer science or related discipline.
• Must have had software developer experience as part of career progression
