Mission Statement:

The team member will be primarily responsible for effectively executing the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy and initiatives by defining and implementing initiatives that drive systemic change and create Equity in alignment to Global D360 vision for India. This includes designing and executing initiatives and interacting with stakeholders across functions / BUs to achieve Diversity 360 goals for India and also specifically towards DEI goals for the listed legal entity of Hitachi Energy in India and South Asia and executing the same with the help of Country HR business partners in different countries. This role partners works in collaboration with the global DE&I community, HR Business Partners, Business Leaders and Communications and Talent teams.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy and initiatives by defining and implementing initiatives that drive systemic change and create Equity in alignment to Global D360 vision.

  • Use data driven strategy to evaluate the gap between now and India DEI goals and formulate the plan to mitigate the current gaps in our DEI strategy.

  • Collaborate with HRBP, Country leadership, and various stakeholders to integrate DEI principles into recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, career development and retention processes.

  • Support multiple projects across our focus areas of DEI which include Gender, Persons with Disability, LGBTQ+ Inclusion, Veterans, Ethnicity / Nationality.

  • Bring in DEI analytics and impact analysis leading to appropriate strategy / actions focusing on the overall workforce, marketplace, and community.

  • Work with TA team to improve diverse talent attraction and also with HRBPs to bring down talent retention at all levels.

  • Program management and promotion of DE&I initiatives across India and share best practices externally in different forums.

  • Build out project timelines & actions along with dashboards, presentations, and key milestones. Monitor project progress, report on performance, and proactively communicate with key stakeholders.

  • Build relationships and work cross-functionally to drive successful on-time completion of DEI initiatives.

  • Build partnerships with external organizations to show case Diversity 360 initiatives of Hitachi Energy in India and also to absorb best practices.

  • Create, build and Champion ERGs.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations on DEI for shareholder updates, annual reports submission etc for the listed legal entity of Hitachi Energy in India.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.

  • The ideal candidate with ~ 10 years’ experience and ability to navigate a matrix organization that is complex, nuanced and disparate in terms of legislative and regulatory environments, and cultural and societal norms, to deliver appropriate DEI activities.

  • The ideal candidate should have the passion to design and lead unique DEI initiatives and move into the strategic piece of showing the change in Hitachi Energy’s India’s DEI arena.

  • Collaborating with Country management team, HRLT of India , and talent teams to improve DEI matrices for Hitachi Energy in India especially the listed entity.

  • Establish key metrics to assess and measure results of DEI initiatives as well as progress against key commitments and the broader DEI strategy.

  • Showcase legal entity and geo commitments that are aligned to the global Diversity360 vision and business goals, publicizing these externally to showcase company’s culture.

  • Represent Hitachi Energy India at internal and external events, fostering strategic partnerships and taking Hitachi Energy India employees along with celebrating DEI calendar events for the country.

  • Experience working within a Media/Content/Entertainment organization that is undergoing significant business transformation.

  • Have experience in navigating a cross border/cross cultural organization.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
