Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Engineering Manager to join the Autodesk Platform Services (OSS)Engineering team. The APS platform offers APIs and services that help our customers access and use their design and engineering data via the cloud. This is a hybrid role based in Pune location, India.
We are looking for a strong leader and communicator with a balance of technical knowledge and business acumen – someone who has led teams developing scalable cloud services in a fast-paced, agile environment. We want someone who knows how to nurture talent, develop and advocate best practices, and provide guidance and mentorship to a high-performing team delivering high-quality solutions. Responsibilities
Lead key business outcomes and initiatives, managing a team of software engineers to ensure execution. Accountable for multiple large-scale key results
Lead and contribute to the development and execution of organization-wide objectives
Inspire, motivate, and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity, creativity, and efficiency; mentor team members to develop their careers and achieve individual success
Hire, develop, and mentor top engineering talent
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to drive business outcomes; provide input and oversight to the technical and product strategy of the team’s applications
Enhance engineering efficiency; observing the team, identifying opportunities and driving improvements
Drive best practices around resiliency and engineering excellence on your team and in collaboration with others
Promote best practices for leveraging AI to increase productivity within and outside the team
Establish strong partnerships with engineering teams worldwide, networking to build common solutions, and to learn and share best practices
Minimum Qualifications
10-14 years of hands-on experience in the industry designing and developing platform components and highly available cloud services at scale
4+ years of experience in leading, mentoring, and managing development teams, or other similar leadership roles
Experience managing strong talent at senior levels, such as Principal Engineers / Architects
Knowledge and experience with AWS services strongly preferred
Experience in hiring key talent and setting up teams for success
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including specification, quality assurance, and documentation
Experience partnering with Product Management on goal alignment, risk measurement, and driving business outcomes through cross-functional collaboration
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to state complex subjects simply for a variety of audiences, and to articulate effectively to both engineering teams and senior leadership
Experience working in and managing geo-distributed teams across time zones
