What You’ll Do
In this role, you will join the Data Acquisition team responsible for building and maintaining Athos Commerce’s live indexing systems that ingest and process ecommerce data from platforms such as Shopify, Magento, and BigCommerce into our search and merchandising ecosystem.
You will work on scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures built using Golang, Docker, and Kubernetes, while collaborating with engineering teams across global locations. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-scale backend systems, contribute to architectural decisions, and gain hands-on experience with modern cloud-native technologies.
How You Will Succeed
- Join a team building a brand-new distributed system and data extraction platform from scratch
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang
- Build and optimize microservices architectures running on Docker and Kubernetes
- Create and contribute to architectural design discussions and technical solutions within the team
- Increase engineering quality through frequent code reviews, pair programming, and automated testing practices
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure application reliability and performance
- Collaborate with development teams across India, Poland, the USA, and Canada
- Work in an agile/Kanban-based software development environment
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize distributed systems and backend services
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering workflows and infrastructure
- Work with ecommerce platform integrations such as Shopify, Magento, and BigCommerce
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining software products
- Strong hands-on experience with Golang and backend software development
- Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Good understanding of architectural design principles and scalable system development
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
- Familiarity with REST APIs, cloud-native development, and backend performance optimization
- Adaptability to a distributed and globally collaborative work environment
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Appetite to learn, grow, and contribute to engineering excellence
- Very good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or BigCommerce
- Exposure to Typescript or full-stack development
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
