Lead hands-on development and modernization of Core Java and J2EE applications. Responsibilities include architecture and design, module ownership, cloud migration, SaaS enablement, performance optimization, unit testing, code reviews, security compliance, client engagement, and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires deep expertise in Java concurrency, data structures, algorithms, monolithic architectures, UML, scalable application development, and cloud deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Core Java / J2EE
/ Servlet-based applications in a monolithic architecture, while
contributing to modernization initiatives (cloud deployment, SaaS
enablement).
- Collaborate closely with architects and
product teams to define scalable solutions and technical designs.
- Provide end-to-end ownership of modules, from
requirements analysis to deployment and performance optimization.
- Work on application modernization initiatives,
including cloud migration, SaaS enablement, and performance improvements.
- Develop and review UML diagrams, architecture
diagrams, and design specifications.
- Write high-quality code, perform code reviews,
and ensure compliance with best practices, performance, and security
standards.
- Contribute as an individual contributor (IC)
in a client-facing setup, representing delivery excellence to Siemens
stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers (where needed) and
provide solutions to complex technical challenges.
Must-Have Technical Skills
- Core Java, J2EE, Servlets – deep expertise,
fully hands-on.
- Strong knowledge of concurrency, collections,
multithreading, synchronization, and locks (read/write locks).
- Expertise in data structures, algorithms, OOPS
concepts (association, relationships, class-object fundamentals).
- Strong understanding of monolithic
architecture and exposure to modernization towards cloud/SaaS.
- Experience in writing unit test cases
(JUnit/TestNG).
- Problem-solving ability through low-level
design, UML diagrams, and system design concepts.
- Hands-on experience in building scalable,
performant applications.
- Exposure to client-facing roles and working
with product architects or services companies managing long-term ODCs.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to Azure/AWS cloud deployments.
- Experience in performance tuning and
optimization.
- Prior experience in large-scale enterprise
product development (companies like GS Labs, Persistent, Nvidia, Veritas,
Symantec preferred).
- SaaS enablement experience.
Educational Qualification
- B.Tech / MCA (or equivalent).
