Java Developer | Proficient in Spring, Hibernate & SQL Databases | Agile Software Development

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a proficient Java Developer to join our technology team. The role is pivotal in developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality Java applications that support the company’s strategic business objectives. This position will work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with business needs and promote system efficiency and reliability.

Software Requirements
 

Required:

• Java programming language (Java 8 or higher) — strong, hands-on experience

• Java frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, Struts — practical experience required

• Java development tools: Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, or NetBeans — proficiency in at least one IDE

• Databases: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server — experience with database design and management

Preferred:

• Build tools such as Maven or Gradle

• Automated testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG)

• Exposure to cloud platforms or containerization technologies (optional)

Overall Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable and maintainable Java applications following best practices

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code

• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize impact on delivery

• Stay informed of evolving Java technologies and industry best practices to apply improvements

• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous development and quality improvement processes

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Programming Languages:

  • Required: Java (version 8 or above) — expert proficiency

• Databases/Data Management:

  • Required: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server — solid understanding of relational databases

• Frameworks and Libraries:

  • Required: Spring, Hibernate, Struts — practical working knowledge

• Development Tools and Methodologies:

  • Required: Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, NetBeans — experienced user of at least one

  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and version control (e.g., Git)

• Security Protocols:

  • Awareness of application security best practices is preferred but not mandatory

Experience Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Java development roles

• Proven experience with Java frameworks and associated development tools

• Experience in database design, query optimization, and management

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in team environments adhering to Agile or similar methodologies

• Alternative qualifying experience includes substantial hands-on Java development in related technical fields

Day-to-Day Activities

• Writing, testing, and maintaining Java code across multiple projects

• Diagnosing and resolving production or development issues promptly

• Collaborating regularly with product owners, QA, and fellow developers to refine features and resolve challenges

• Performing unit and integration testing to validate application functionality and performance

• Keeping abreast of advancements in the Java ecosystem and applying relevant knowledge to projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred

• Professional Java certification(s) such as Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer are a plus
