Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support the bank's decision-making processes by providing timely, accurate, and insightful information through designing, developing, and maintaining management reports, compelling visualisations and dashboards that effectively communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), data insights and trends across various business units. 

Accountabilities

  • Design and development of comprehensive reports and dashboards utilisng best practices in data visualisation principles and design aesthetics to ensure clarity, accuracy, and accessibility.

  • Design, development and implementation of automated report generation processes and visualisation methodologies for improved efficiency and timeliness. 

  • Identification and analysis of business requirements to define report content and format.

  • Maintenance and updating of existing reports and dashboards to reflect changing business needs, including co-ordination of reporting template releases and related administrative tasks.

  • Development of robust processes & controls for collating input data, performing exploratory data analysis & data cleansing and seeking signoffs as required. 

  • Engagement with stakeholders as needed to ensure up to date data is incorporated into reporting and visualisations.

To be successful as a “Lead BI Engineer - IDL Technology", you should have experience with:

  Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in data engineering, data management, governance, lineage, metadata management, reconciliation, and data quality frameworks.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern data lake architectures on AWS, Azure etc.
  • Experience building and scaling BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to deliver self-service reporting, operational insights, and advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Proven experience building enterprise services using Java, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Track record of driving automation, DataOps, AI-enabled solutions, observability, and engineering excellence, while leading high-performing Agile engineering teams.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, regulatory data requirements, and risk & control frameworks.
  • Expertise in real-time and batch data processing, data integration, enrichment, and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex business objectives into scalable data products and actionable insights.
  • Passion for leveraging GenAI, machine learning, and emerging technologies to accelerate innovation and decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence across business and technology leadership.
