Job Description
The Application Developer Sr Consultant II develops code for complex modules, participates in design reviews, conducts code reviews, creates test plans and participates in testing reviews, and resolves moderate defects. The Sr Consultant II designs, documents, reviews, and maintains components of software solutions for complex projects. Under limited supervision, the Sr. Consultant II works closely with business partners to identify needs and design technology solutions to overcome process bottlenecks, reduce use of contingent claim resources, reduce compliance risks, or generally increase operational efficiency. They are often required to deliver tactical solutions that can be implemented within a few days. They are responsible for all phases of the application development cycle: beginning with requirements gathering, through release, and ultimately ongoing user support.Roles & Responsibilities
- Overall experience of 10 to 12+ years of Software Product/Project Development experience preferably in Insurance or Finance domain
- Work in a fast-paced Agile environment using Scrum methodology.
- Build resilient and highly responsive cloud native and containerized applications that can scale horizontally and vertically
- Lead critical initiatives, mentor junior team members, and promote a quality-first mindset.
- Design, Code, Test, Document and Release new application features.
- Write well-structured, testable code without much supervision. Re-architect and refactor back-end order processing system for performance and scalability.
- Take full-stack ownership of applications through development and production, including managing releases, performance testing of APIs, implementing monitors and alerts and owning availability and production incident SLAs.
- Work with product owners on requirements, design and story break down
- Participate in on-call as per the rotation schedule
REQUIREMENTS:
- Techstack:
- Back End (MUST HAVE): 6-8 years of hands-on programming experience on
- SQL and PL/SQL, PostgreSQL
- Working knowledge of backend database integration
- Middle ware (MUST HAVE) 6-8 years of familiar experience in
- Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs design and Spring/Spring Boot 2.0 framework
- Experience with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres, JPA/Hibernate
- Experience with event streaming systems such as Kafka
- Knowledge and experience with microservices
- Ecommerce, integration, EDI or retail system application know-how
- DevOps & QA (MUST HAVE): 6+ years of experience with DevOps and CI/CD delivery methodology, technologies, and familiar with tools like
- Version control: Preferably Git or similar
- CI: Preferably Jenkins or similar
- Static code analysis: Preferably SonarQube or similar
- Cyber Security: Preferably Veracode or similar
- QA: TestRail, Coda, Postman or similar
- Reporting: Preferably Tableau or similar
- Debugging: Preferably PagerDuty, Splunk, Postman or similar
- Cloud (NICE TO HAVE): 2-4 years of hands-on experience with cloud technology
- Using AWS services /or any other equivalent cloud services
- Front End (NICE TO HAVE): 2 - 4 years of familiar experience in
- Angular, CSS/HTML, TypeScript, JavaScript, ES6, NodeJS, Jasmine, Karma, Angular Material, Testrail
- Back End (MUST HAVE): 6-8 years of hands-on programming experience on
- General:
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Be able to learn and pick up new skills and technology quickly
- Strong knowledge and experience with performance and scalable systems
