The Role
As a Lead Software Engineer on the API Integrations Team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing scalable API integrations with external Data Providers (Banks and Payroll) across global markets. In addition to hands-on development, you will mentor and guide engineers, promote best practices, and contribute to architectural decisions that ensure secure and compliant data connectivity. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who thrives in a leadership capacity and enjoys solving complex challenges in a data-intensive environment.

Design and develop scalable, secure API integrations with external Data Providers across diverse geographies.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and career development support.

Optimize performance and scalability for systems processing millions of financial and payroll datasets daily.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and external partners to define integration strategies and deliver seamless experiences.

Support incident response and root cause analysis, ensuring system resilience and continuous improvement.

8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
Proven track record of building and scaling complex systems, especially in high-volume environments.
Deep expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services, with a focus on global API integrations.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
Experience integrating with financial and payroll data providers, ensuring secure and compliant data flows.
Skilled in Test Driven Development (TDD) and continuous integration practices.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains.
Comfortable working in Agile Scrum environments, driving iterative development and team velocity.
