Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support Wholesale Lending with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support with day-to-day Wholesale Lending initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution through lending technical expertise.

  • Monitoring the bank’s lending operations to ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and effective manner and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Wholesale Lending processes.

  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Wholesale Lending processes.

  • Development and implementation of Wholesale Lending procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.

  • Development of reports and presentations on Wholesale Lending performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.

  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Wholesale Lending Services.

  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Wholesale Lending efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.

Step into the role of Lending Ops Subject Matter Expert analyst at Barclays, where you'll provide first-class support by conducting in-depth due diligence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and safeguarding our clients and organization with expertise and care.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role such as:

  • Manage a complex portfolio of large corporate syndicated loans, handling day to day processing of all stages from submission to drawdown, reconciliation and ensure compliance with agreed service levels.

  • Working knowledge of ACBS, Loan IQ, facility and agreements.

  • Provide expert guidance and technical input to colleagues, leadership, and clients on lending transactions, quality assurance, and resolution of escalated issues.

  • Drive continuous process improvements and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring timely and accurate client fund payments.

  • Act as the subject matter expert and point of contact for process, procedural, and change queries within EMEA teams, ensuring up-to-date documentation and audit readiness.

  • Should be responsible for execution of critical and time sensitive activities such as new deals, amendments of existing facilities.

  • Minimum qualification – bachelor’s degree.

  • Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Should have prior experience in wholesale lending.
