Overview:
The Mastercard Consolidated Billing System (MCBS) team within the Financial Solutions program has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Software Engineer. Financial Solutions provides Mastercard and its customers with a fully automated and scalable system that delivers timely pricing and billing solutions as well as accurate stakeholder reporting. In this role you will be responsible for designing and developing billing programs to support Mastercard's billing and enhance customers billing experience through simplification of the billing structures.
The Role:

• Technically lead a development team to code scalable, reliable, maintainable, and secure applications• Plan, design and develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with MasterCard standards, engineering principles, processes, and best practices• Provide strong people leadership and technical guidance to team - lead with a technical vision prioritizing business value• Lead by example with hands-on approaches that demonstrate engineering excellence.• Work closely with director, product manager, technical leads and architects to align on objectives and architecture guidelines• Ensure successful delivery of software capabilities adhering to SAFe Agile processes and ceremonies• Take ownership of complex problems and production incidents with dependencies across services and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive timely resolution.• Possess the aptitude to quickly learn and contribute to our complex platform• Perform code reviews to ensure best practices• Establish effective partnerships and relationships across multiple organizations
All About You and What you need to bring:• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in the software quality engineering discipline, starting as a software engineer and progressing through the ranks to a leadership position. Background in the finance domain with working experience with Intermediate and Singleview products from CSG a plus• Proficient programming skills with a deep understanding of Java, SQL, Linux, Spring Framework, and microservices architecture• Product engineering experience that demonstrates thought-leadership and cross-functional influence demonstrated by a successful track record of enabling business through engineering excellence and technical innovation.• Experience in leading the initiation and formation of large global projects including architecting, estimating, planning, implementing, and operating as well as selecting talent resources across multiple geographies and functions.• Understands and implements API standards and cataloging to drive API/service adoption and commercialization• Has skills to promote and coach teams on take on full stack development and facilitate end-to-end service ownership• Has skills to drive trade-off discussions to set right development capacity based on value drivers e.g., regulatory, security, new business, market parity, technical debt• Performance engineering experience to ensure applications are built to scale, run, and perform for varying demands• Has skills to evaluate practices, metrics, and roles to continually optimize SDLC methodologies and automate processes to improve lead time and quality
