As an Assistant IT Manager, you will be responsible for the level 1 support of all onboard computer systems. This includes installing and configuring new PC system hardware, upgrading existing hardware, and supporting mobile devices. Works closely with the IT Manager onboard to ensure all systems perform at optimum levels.

- IT Network Infrastructure – administer, manage and monitor the hardware and software resources, connectivity, communication and operations of the entire network.
- Physical and Virtual Servers – monitor the servers at all times. Protect data, software and hardware from failures.
- Domain Controller – monitor and create usernames and change passwords.
- Exchange Server / Office 365 – assist email users by providing instructions and best practices.
- V-Sat Communications (Telenor) – ensure efficient operations at all times. Monitor closely to maintain the optimal performance of the ship.
- TV System – responsible for both the above deck equipment (ADE) and below deck equipment (BDE) including troubleshooting and repair of the equipment. Handle and control the TV broadcast onboard.
- Property Management System (Fidelio) – manage the system from terminal check-in, security gangway and guest and crew handling and user support.
- Point of Sales (Micros) – handle workstations and users. Includes repair and troubleshooting of workstations and printers.
- Wi-Fi Mesh Network – manage, troubleshoot and repair wireless access points for optimal performance and coverage.
- Guest and Crew Internet Café – maintain internet connection and Wi-Fi coverage for guests and crew at all times.
- VoIP System – manage Cisco IP phones. Includes programming and repair of the mobile devices.
- Casino Table and Slots Software (OCM) – create usernames and passwords for users.
- Monitor network connections at all times.

- Minimum 21 years old
- Relevant ship experience is preferred
- Good level of English language
- At least a bachelor's degree education in IT, preferably with well-rounded major such as computer science, information technology or management information systems.
- Current CompTIA A+ 220-801 certification, technical school certification, or three or more years of equivalent work experience is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in areas of user support and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks; proficiency in the use of computer business applications with working knowledge of PC / LAN systems, hardware and software applications
- Knowledge of network devices and appliances such as routers, switches, controllers, wireless access points and firewalls.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail and accuracy while working under pressure in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to execute decision-making properly to solve the problem by thinking ahead and correct planning.
- Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German preferred.
