The Group: The Information Products group is the home of manufacturing and innovation at Morningstar. The individuals in this group transform our high-quality data, independent research, and technological expertise into well-designed products that delight our clients. The group's product management, product development, and service teams collaborate with our Client Solutions group to help them provide clients with relevant products and bundled solutions.
The Role: Morningstar seeks an Operations Analyst to join our operations. This role will play a key role in our mission to provide exceptional client by ensuring our production processes for the Morningstar Publishing System and Media Productions. The Morningstar Publishing System allows clients, internal and external to create customised financial reports using both Morningstar data and data from other sources specific to their needs. Media Productions involves daily data delivery to major media houses in UK and other parts of Europe. This position is based in our Mumbai office.
Responsibilities
- Be part of the team that own and execute on the production processes for global clients on the Morningstar Publishing System and Media Productions. Develop the team to ensure a thorough ownership and understanding of the product, process and the clients it serves.
- Work with external and internal project stakeholders to ensure the production is timely and meet required quality standards.
- Assure the quality of the incoming and outgoing data within the Morningstar Publishing System and Media Productions to ensure the content of the produced publications match the expected requirements.
- Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency and reducing operational risk through the automation of operational tasks and/or improvement of existing processes.
- Keep documentation of processes up to date, and proactively ensure that the operation risks are kept at a minimum.
- Assist with quality assuring the incoming and outgoing data to the Morningstar Publishing System and Media Productions.
- Work close to the technology team to assist with new feature releases in the software product.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience of working on projects with contractual timelines and scope.
- Willing to perform duties in night shift at least once a week.
- Preference to be given to candidates with knowledge of general software and data architectural principles.
- Understanding of financial markets and products with inclination to learning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to develop effective working relationships with both local and international stakeholders including the capabilities to negotiate, develop rapport and establish trust.
- Ease dealing with ambiguity; ability to create focus and keep the team on track.
- Educated to degree level, an advanced degree is a plus.
