As a Payment Lifecycle Analyst within Payments Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth transfer of funds between various parties while enhancing our payment operations framework. You will leverage your knowledge of automation technologies and systems architecture to process payments across various products and parties. Your responsibilities include identifying and resolving issues, making decisions guided by established practices, and contributing to short-term operational goals. You will engage with stakeholders, manage projects, and spur continuous improvement initiatives, building strong working relationships with internal lines of business. Your ability to understand and apply cybersecurity controls, anti-fraud strategies, and data analysis techniques will be key to your success in this role.
Job responsibilities
- Support 24/7 shift coverage, including weekends as needed, to meet service expectations across client experience, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor intraday cash positions across Nostros to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Execute internal and external Nostro fund transfers in line with controls, guidelines, and cut-off times.
- Reconcile daily cash activity, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate follow-ups to resolve breaks.
- Partner with Treasury to manage intraday liquidity and funding requirements.
- Track clearing queues and payment processing systems to ensure timely settlement and stable connectivity.
- Respond to operational issues by applying structured problem-solving to resolve payment delays, unmatched items, and incorrect postings.
- Analyze LOB inflows and outflows to support cash forecasting and timely funding decisions.
- Participate in regression testing and system enhancement implementation for cash processing changes.
- Strengthen business continuity readiness and contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Standardize and simplify processes by collaborating with global managers and using data-driven insights to improve service delivery across locations.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and suggest effective solutions under time constraints.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
- Ability to multi-task under time constraints.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in cash operations, market operations, or liquidity operations within a financial institution.
Working knowledge of banking/payment systems (e.g., SWIFT, ISO, Reconciliation tools, RTGS, CHAPS, TARGET2, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or Qlikview.
- Skills in data management and analysis, with the ability to source, analyze, and visualize large data sets.
- Ability to work comfortably under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience in industrializing new processes.
