Job Summary

Contribute to the overall success of the payroll department by providing accurate and timely payroll processing, delivering excellent customer service, and building positive, productive relationships with peers, team members, and leadership.

What You Will Do As A US Payroll Specialist

  • Reporting: Prepare payroll-related reports, including compensation, taxes, garnishments, and deductions.
  • W-2 Processing: Issue annual W-2 forms to employees.
  • Communication: Discuss payroll queries with managers and employees.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and address payroll process pain points.
  • Data Integrity: Manage data audits to ensure accuracy.
  • SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
  • Payroll Processing: Enter, audit, review, correct, and transmit payroll data.
  • Oncycle/Offcycle Payroll: Calculate and prepare payroll checks.
  • E-Filing: Handle electronic filing of payroll paperwork.
  • Tax Compliance: Research and resolve payroll tax issues.
  • Reporting: Prepare and distribute earnings registers, create/import payroll files, and run reports as needed.
  • Time Management: Maintain time punches in the time management system.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as a resource for Time Keeping and Scheduling modules.
  • Third-Party Requests: Process garnishments, levies, bankruptcies, and child support wage assignments.

What You Will Bring As A US Payroll Specialist

  • Experience: 5+ years in US full-cycle payroll for 500+ employees; multi-jurisdictional payroll experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills, ability to detect inconsistencies, work with minimal supervision.
  • Payroll Systems: Experience with Workday (1+ years) or other US payroll systems (2+ years).
  • Employment Laws: Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, wage laws, and overtime laws.
  • Excel Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced skills, including formulas and data analysis.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain the privacy of employee records.
  • Proactive: Self-starter with problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork: Strong communication and task-sharing abilities.
  • Business Process Understanding: Ability to document and understand business processes.
  • Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
  • Proven experience working with US based business teams 
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English language 
  • Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap
