The Performance Testing Engineer is a crucial individual contributor role to our Test Engineering team and reports directly to a Performance Testing Engineer Manager.  This position is primarily responsible for designing and creating reliable performance testing solutions in our existing test frameworks.   A successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of testing and automation, have a passion for analyzing test results, be excellent at communicating in a clear and concise way, and have the ability to perform at a high level towards team and department outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing and developing performance test strategies and test plans.
• Develop and maintain performance test scripts and scenarios using LoadRunner and JMeter.
• Execute performance tests and analyze test results to identify performance issues.
• Support investigations into performance bottlenecks and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Work closely with development, operations, system architecture, QA, and DBA teams to align application performance with business needs.
• Monitor application behavior under various conditions to detect regressions and performance trends.
• Assist in optimizing application performance and scalability using monitoring tools like New Relic.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and developers to meet performance requirements.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of performance testing methodologies and tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in performance testing or related fields in Software Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter.
• Basic understanding of Agile methodologies and cloud computing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, such as Jenkins or GitHub actions.
• Basic understanding of programming and scripting languages like Java, Python, or Javascript.
• Experience with performance testing of database systems (SQL Server / PostgreSQL), cache storage (Redis), and message queues (RabbitMQ).
• Adaptability to evolving technological environments and a quick learning ability.
