Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Vision & Roadmap: Define, communicate, and execute the product roadmap and strategic initiatives, ensuring tight alignment with both customer needs and organizational objectives.

  • Master the Backlog: Lead and prioritize the product backlog, translating complex business needs, user feedback, and mandatory regulatory upgrades into well-defined epics and user stories.

  • Lead & Collaborate: Act as the central point of contact for all stakeholders. Drive alignment between engineering, design, compliance, and business units to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions.

  • Be the Regulatory Expert: Proactively monitor and analyze industry-wide regulatory developments, incorporating emerging requirements into the product roadmap to keep clients ahead of the curve.

  • Champion the User: Serve as the principal advocate for the user experience, ensuring the delivery of an intuitive, reliable, and value-driven platform.

  • Measure What Matters: Establish, track, and report on key metrics to evaluate product and feature performance, using data to inform future iterations.

Qualifications

Core Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a SaaS or enterprise-level software environment.

  • Proven Product Lifecycle Management: A demonstrable track record of managing complex products and delivering strategic initiatives from concept to launch.

  • Agile Expertise: Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies and extensive experience leading high performing, distributed (offshore) Agile development teams.

  • Masterful Communicator: Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels, from executive leadership to technical engineering teams.

Highly Desired (The Ideal Candidate)

  • Compliance Domain Experience: Prior exposure to regulatory or compliance-driven product domains is highly desirable.

  • SEC/Filing Knowledge: Knowledge of the SEC filing process and related regulatory concepts (EDGAR, iXBRL) is a significant advantage and will set you apart.

Desired Attributes

  • Strategic & Analytical: You balance a long-term vision with precise execution and possess exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills.

  • Detail-Oriented: You have a high level of integrity, accountability, and meticulous attention to detail—critical in a regulatory environment.

  • Collaborative Leader: You are a strong collaborator, a team player, and a self-starting individual contributor who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

XBRL & Regulatory Expertise (Highly Valued Competency)

  • XBRL Technical Acumen: Understanding of XBRL/iXBRL architecture, taxonomy structures, validations, and filing nuances both technical and regulatory to accurately interpret new requirements.

  • Standards & Community Engagement: Actively monitor and participate in industry groups such as XBRL.org, XBRL US, XBRLEUROPE.org, or other regulatory working groups to stay ahead of emerging standards, propose improvements, and communicate product-impacting updates.

  • Regulatory Interpretation: Ability to translate evolving regulations and taxonomy updates into clear, actionable requirements for engineering teams and business stakeholders.

Leadership, Influence & Communication (Key Behavioral Expectations)

  • Strong Stakeholder Influence: Ability to drive clarity, alignment, and urgency across cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, compliance, operations, and management to ensure the right outcomes are delivered.

  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Skilled at articulating complex regulatory and technical concepts in simple, actionable language tailored to different audiences, from developers to executives.

  • Structured Requirement Commentary: Capable of producing precise, high-quality requirement documentation and commentary that remove ambiguity and ensure shared understanding across teams.

  • Outcome-Driven Leadership: Comfortable challenging assumptions, advocating for user-centric decisions, and steering execution even without formal authority to ensure commitments are met.

User Insight & Value-Driven Delivery

  • Deep User Understanding: Ability to accurately capture end-user expectations, pain points, and real-world workflows to ensure that features solve the right problems not just the visible ones.

  • Smart MVP Focus: Skilled at defining MVPs that are minimal yet meaningful prioritizing the most impactful, high-value capabilities first to ensure users see immediate benefit.

  • Outcome Over Output: Ensures every feature shipped delivers tangible value, is intuitive to use, and meets baseline expectations before expanding into advanced functionality.

  • Continuous Validation: Works closely with users, customer-facing teams, and usage data to validate assumptions early, refine requirements, and prevent misaligned or low-value releases.

Product Design & User Experience (Preferred Skills)

  • Proficiency with prototyping and wireframing tools (Figma) to define workflows, visualize concepts, and collaborate effectively with design teams.

Product Analytics & Adoption Tools (Preferred Skills)

  • Hands-on experience with product analytics and in-app engagement platforms such as Pendo, UserPilot to understand user behavior, measure adoption, run experiments, and optimize the product experience.

Agile Tooling & Documentation (Preferred Skills)

  • Strong proficiency with JIRA and Confluence, including backlog management, sprint planning, requirement documentation, roadmap visualization, and cross-team collaboration.
