We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the next phase of global payroll transformation within HR Global Shared Service (GSS). This is a two-year assignment focused on implementing a common global payroll solution, transitioning to a global managed payroll model and establishing a more standardized and scalable payroll setup. 

You will take end-to-end ownership of project delivery. Working closely with Payroll Operations across GSS payroll teams in Europe, Asia and Americas, GSS Process Experts, Finance, Global Process Owners, IT and external Payroll vendors, you will be responsible for keeping the project on track, managing risks and ensuring successful delivery across all countries. We are looking for someone with practical experience in global payroll and payroll vendor implementations to navigate complexity and drive results. 

Your key responsibilities 

  • Lead the end-to-end global payroll transformation roadmap, from planning and country readiness through implementation, stabilization and handover to operations. 
  • Drive implementation of the global payroll vendor solution across countries. 
  • Coordinate delivery across HR Operations, Payroll Operations, Process Experts, Global Process Owners, IT, Finance, Procurement and external vendors. 
  • Ensure global standards are implemented while meeting local payroll, compliance and statutory requirements. 
  • Manage project plans, risks, budgets, governance and leadership reporting. 
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, communication and change management activities. 
  • Support successful testing, go-live, stabilization and handover to operations. 
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization and operational excellence across payroll services.

Qualifications

About you 

  • Significant experience leading global payroll transformation, payroll vendor implementation or payroll outsourcing programs across multiple countries.
  • Hands-on experience working with global payroll vendors and managed payroll service providers, including implementation and vendor governance.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll operations, service delivery, controls, compliance, data flows and the interdependencies between HR, Payroll, Finance and IT.
  • Experience with complex country deployments, including planning, requirements, data migration, testing, cutover, go-live and stabilization.
  • Proven ability to lead global, cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project governance, commercial awareness, risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset and cultural awareness. 
  • Proficiency in advanced project management tools and software. Project or program management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA is an advantage.
