What is Senior Accountant in Expense Accounting group responsible for?

  • The Senior Accountant-Financial Accounting is responsible for maintaining the accounting books and records for Franklin Templeton entities, for assigned functional group, including the preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules, account reconciliations and variance analysis #MID_SENIOR_LEVEL

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Accountant?

  • Review and/or prepare the journals to record daily transactions.

  • Review and/or prepare the supporting schedules.

  • Work/follow up with other teams to ensure the recurring processes are completed as schedule.

  • Follow up the reconciling items of the account balances.

  • Support the implementation of changes in processes/workflow

  • Perform month-end close process for the assigned functional group to ensure the transactions are completely and accurately recorded in accordance with the stipulated timelines.

  • Review and/or prepare variance analysis, reconciliations and supporting schedules.

  • Timely and effective communications with the managers and team on the progress of work and any issues/exceptions identified.

  • Participate in various ad-hoc cross-departmental / cross-functional projects

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?

  • Semi Qualified Chartered Accountant / Semi Qualified CMA is preferred.

  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with coursework in intermediate and advanced accounting.

  • At least 4 years of financial accounting with reporting experience preferably within multinational corporations with a matrix organizational environment.

  • Attention to details.

  • Good knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS.

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.

  • Strong problem solving and resolution skills.

  • Strong written / verbal communication skills.

  • Strong inter-personal skill to establish and maintain on-going working relationships with various individuals both within and outside FT Finance.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to coordinate performance of certain tasks with other teams with supervision

  • Ability to maintain updated knowledge of procedures, products and activities of assigned.

  • Experience with automated financial systems, including a general ledger, preferably Workday.

  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including spreadsheet upload, pivot tables and related functions.

Work Shift Timings – 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
