The Senior Analyst, HR Data Quality & Governance is a critical member of the HR Data Capabilities team, responsible for protecting the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of HR data across core HR landscape.

This role focuses on operational HR data quality ensuring that employee lifecycle data (hire, move, pay, learn, exit) is fit‑for‑purpose, governed by clear standards, and proactively controlled to prevent downstream impacts to payroll, benefits, compliance, and workforce reporting & insights.

The role operates within the Workday HR ecosystem, but it is not a Workday configuration or implementation role. Instead, it partners closely with HR Operations, HR Technology, and Data teams to identify data quality risks, define controls, and drive sustainable fixes at the process and data‑standard level.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Data Quality & Operational Controls

  • Own and execute HR data quality controls across core HR domains (e.g., workforce data, compensation, organizational structures, learning, and employee lifecycle events).

  • Identify, assess data quality issues rooted in HR processes, upstream handoffs, or inconsistent standards—not just system defects.

  • Perform root‑cause analysis to distinguish process, policy, and system contributors to data quality issues and recommend durable fixes.

  • Define and maintain data quality rules, validation checks, and monitoring routines to prevent recurring issues in BAU operations.

Data Standards & Governance Execution

  • Partner with HR domain owners to define, document, and operationalize HR data standards, business definitions, and usage expectations.

  • Facilitate working sessions with HR Operations, HR Technology, and IT partners to align on data controls.

  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable data requirements that support consistent HR data quality outcomes at scale.

  • Support governance forums by providing evidence‑based insights on data quality trends, risks, and remediation progress.

Stakeholder Partnership & Enablement

  • Act as a trusted partner to HR Operations teams by connecting data quality outcomes to real operational impact (e.g., payroll accuracy, compliance readiness, employee experience).

  • Build practical documentation, templates, and playbooks that enable teams to implement data quality consistently, not theoretically.

  • Support change initiatives by ensuring data readiness and quality during process or system changes, releases, or new use cases.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and supervise data quality metrics that reflect operational health, not just reporting completeness.

  • Supervise trends to identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities across HR processes and data flows.

  • Continuously refine controls, standards, and practices based on operational takeaways and business demand.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. MBA Preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

Experience & Domain Knowledge

  • 5+ years of professional experience in HR Data Quality, HR Data Governance, or HR Process Enablement within a large, complex, global organization.

  • Strong understanding of HR business processes and employee lifecycle events, and how data quality issues manifest operationally.

  • Proven experience identifying and resolving data issues driven by process gaps, inconsistent standards.

Data & Analytical Capability

  • Hands‑on experience defining and applying data quality rules, validation logic, and controls.

  • Ability to analyse data to diagnose issues and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Solid understanding of SQL and common data analysis techniques to support investigation and validation (advanced analytics not required).

Preferred:

  • Exposure to Workday HR data and downstream HR integrations (contextual understanding, not configuration ownership).

  • Experience supporting data governance or data management frameworks in an HR or people data context.

  • Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery approaches in a business or data environment.

  • Experience supporting global HR data across multiple regions or operating models.

Other:

  • Proven track record to operate in ambiguous environments, bringing structure, prioritization, and transparency.

  • Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.

  • Experience working cross‑functionally with HR, Technology, and IT teams in an enterprise environment.

  • Travel as per Business need
