So, what’s the role all about?
You are expected to be a professional automation engineer with a strong testing background and knowledge of building automated systems & tests both front-end UI, backend services and databases. You will be testing all aspect of a distributed system.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing build and test infrastructure, creating and enforcing good engineering practices, and evaluating product quality.
How will you make an impact?
Actively participate in meetings related to Agile development methodology such as planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily status reporting; influence and encourage best practices, quality and mutual accountability.
Build automated test suites for continuous integration and delivery including acceptance, performance, regression and new feature testing of UI components, Web services and various applications and systems.
Develop and execute a complete test strategy for products and features including verification of functionality, performance, security and scalability. Insure the quality of the product and provide evidence of release readiness.
Analyze and decompose a software system and design a complete system test strategy. Continuously streamline and improve the testing life cycle to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting are effective, agile, and coordinated.
Analyze testing results to enhance test plans and scenarios. (Including metrics and benchmarks to gauge improvement)
Pro-active investigation/verification of production defects and continuous improvement of regression tests
Have you got what it takes?
BE / B.Tech in Computer Science, Industrial/Electronic Engineering or MCA
5+ years of experience as an automation engineer
2+ years of experience in Automation test development
2+ years of experience in UI automation testing
2+ years of experience in Web Services automation testing
Experienced with automatically generating data for testing.
Used Playwright or Selenium/Protractors or equivalent UI testing tools.
Knowledge of Tomcat and other application servers
API testing tools such as JSystem, Rest-assured, Ready API is preferable.
Knowledge of performance testing with tools such as JMeter, Gatling, etc. is preferable.
Working knowledge of AWS is preferable.
You will have an advantage if you also have:
Experience working in a Continuous Integration and Delivery environment using tools such as Jenkins is added advantage.
Experienced working with Databases, writing SQL queries for data validation. MySQL database experience a plus.
Experience working in a modified Agile methodology development environment and using work item management tools like JIRA.
Hands-on coding experience in Java or other mainstream language is added advantage.
