About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer with 5+ years of overall experience, including 4–5 years in automation testing, to join our QA team working across multiple Scrum teams.
This role requires a strong hands-on automation background, a solid understanding of modern QA practices, and the ability to contribute to scalable, high-quality automation frameworks. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable releases, improving test coverage, and driving continuous quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities Automation & Test Development
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation scripts across UI, API, and integration layers
- Contribute to and enhance automation frameworks ensuring scalability and maintainability
- Ensure high test coverage and stable execution
Execution & Quality Delivery
- Actively participate in sprint activities (planning, execution, and defect triage)
- Execute automation and manual testing as required in hybrid QA setups
- Identify, log, and track defects with clear documentation
Framework & Best Practices
- Follow and implement best practices such as:
- Page Object Model (POM)
- Reusable utilities and modular design
- Parallel test execution
- Work closely with teams to improve test design and execution efficiency
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with Developers, Product Managers, and QA teams
- Share test progress, risks, and blockers proactively
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines and automation efficiency
- Stay updated with new tools, trends, and practices including:
- AI-assisted testing
- Self-healing automation
- Modern testing frameworks
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of total QA experience
- 4–5 years of hands-on automation experience
Strong expertise in:
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Automation tools such as:
- WebdriverIO / Selenium / Cypress / Playwright
- API automation frameworks
- Git and Azure DevOps
- CI/CD pipeline integration
Core Competencies:
- Strong understanding of automation architecture and design patterns
- Experience in debugging and troubleshooting automation failures
- Ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear and effective communication skills
Good-to-Have:
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, etc.)
- Exposure to performance or security testing concepts
- Familiarity with test data management and environment setups
