Data is central to everything at Atlassian. We ingest billions of events each month into our analytics platform, and dozens of teams across the company rely on it to drive critical decisions. Our team also builds and manages Atlassian's analytical and operational data store enabling teams to make informed decisions and run their operations on trusted data and services. We're looking for a Senior Data Engineering Manager to join our growing Finance Data Engineering team within the Data Engineering department. Join us as we further democratize data and build exceptional data products for the company.
Key Responsibilities

• Leadership: Hire, coach, mentor, and provide career development for a team of data engineers.
• Technical Guidance: Provide deep technical expertise in data engineering within a scalable ecosystem.
• Engineering Excellence: Drive cultural and process improvements to elevate quality and efficiency.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (Business Teams, Data Science, and Analytics Platform) to foster a collaborative culture.

More about you...

• Experience:
  
  • 6-8+ years in a software development role (Individual Contributor).
  • 4+ years of people management experience leading agile teams.

• Technical Skills:
  
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud stacks: AWS, S3, Databricks, Spark/Spark Streaming, graph databases, dbt.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data architectural standards, dimensional modeling, test automation, and continuous delivery.
• Education: Graduate degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

• Building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with Tableau.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
