Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in DevOps practices to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to the automation, stability, and scalability of our technology infrastructure, supporting our business objectives of delivering high-quality and reliable digital solutions. You will play a vital part in enhancing deployment pipelines, managing cloud environments, and ensuring operational excellence across projects.
Software RequirementsRequired Skills:
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps (version-neutral but with experience in mature environments)
- Containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (latest or recent stable versions)
- Configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack, Datadog)
- Version control systems, primarily Git
Preferred Skills:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP (certifications or extensive experience preferred)
- Scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell)
- Automate and optimize deployment and operational processes to improve system reliability and efficiency
- Manage and monitor cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring high availability and performance
- Collaborate with development teams to facilitate continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- Implement security best practices within DevOps workflows to safeguard infrastructure and data
- Document infrastructure configurations and operational procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance
- Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at infrastructure modernization and process improvements
- Meet performance metrics related to deployment frequency, system uptime, and incident resolution
Programming Languages:
- Required: Bash, Python (basic scripting for automation)
- Preferred: PowerShell, Groovy
Databases/Data Management:
- Required: Basic knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)
Cloud Technologies:
- Required: Hands-on experience with cloud service management (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Preferred: Cloud certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, etc.)
Frameworks and Libraries:
- Knowledge of container orchestration and microservices architecture is essential
Development Tools and Methodologies:
- Strong familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies, including version control, automated testing, and continuous delivery
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
Security Protocols:
- Implement security best practices within pipelines and infrastructure, including access management and vulnerability assessments
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in IT Operations with a focus on DevOps
- Proven track record in managing large-scale deployment environments and cloud infrastructure
- Experience working in multi-platform, multi-cloud, or hybrid cloud environments preferred
- Alternative pathways: Extensive hands-on experience demonstrating advanced DevOps competencies may be considered
- Develop, deploy, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment efficiency
- Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements
- Collaborate with development, engineering, and security teams in sprint planning and problem resolution
- Manage configuration updates and environment scaling activities
- Participate in incident management and post-incident reviews to improve system robustness
- Document procedures and assist in training teams on new tools or processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent practical experience considered
- Relevant certifications: AWS, Azure, GCP DevOps, or similar preferred
- Ongoing commitment to professional development and staying current with industry best practices
- Formal training in cloud computing, automation tools, or infrastructure management is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
- Skilled in stakeholder management, understanding needs, and translating them into technical solutions
- Adaptability to evolving technologies and a keen willingness to learn new skills
- Innovative mindset with a focus on efficiency, security, and sustainability
- Effective time management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
