Department OverviewMotorola Solutions Finance Operations Center (F.O.C.) provides world-class finance, accounting and purchasing services to Motorola branches in Europe, Middle East, Africa, US and Latin America region. It is a dynamic environment where your ideas and input will be valued and where you will do some of the best work of your life.
General Ledger department is in charge of General Accounting, Global Fixed Assets & Intercompany Operations and Statutory & Compliance activities for Motorola’s entities in the region.
Job Description
Preparation of annual, statutory financial statements - for local legal entities based in the EMEA region
Gathering of input data for the purpose of preparation of CIT calculations by external advisors
Preparation of VAT declarations based on data gathered from various sources
Preparation of other locally required filings and reports Analysis of movements on the entity’s trial balance sheet - month on month
Review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Working on resolution of accounting and related process issues
Close cooperation with local finance teams and management
Preparation of various internal and external reports
Working on regular month end close activities
Helping drive standardization of accounting processes across teams and sites
Working with auditors and answering audit queries
Other accounting tasks as determined by the GL Manager/Team Lead
Basic Requirements
In-depth understanding of accounting and accounting principles, proven by previous experience; ability to understand business scenarios and translate them into accounting entries
Ability to perform an analysis of a problem and propose an accounting and/or process solution
Good understanding of business processes outside of GL (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Management Accounting, others) and how they impact GL processes
Understanding of the end-to-end reporting cycle and the role GL plays in it
Very good command of written and spoken English language - essential
Attention to detail
Ability to work under time pressure
Very good Excel and MS Office skills
Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with Finance and non-Finance staff at various levels
