ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to build backend and data-driven services combining strong Java skills with data systems experience. This person works across ingestion, transformation, and integration using tools such as Spark and Kafka, supporting design through production operations. Comfort ramping quickly into existing systems is important here.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and maintain Java-based services and data processing components.
- Build scalable solutions for data ingestion, transformation, and system integration.
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
- Support system design, implementation, testing, and production operations.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend and data services.
- Troubleshoot defects and production issues across application and data layers.
- Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
MUST HAVES
- 4+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong Java development skills.
- Experience working with data-oriented systems, ETL processes, or backend data services.
- Experience with Spark, Kafka, or large-scale data platform tools.
- Understanding of APIs, databases, and distributed application design.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative Agile teams.
- Able to ramp into existing systems and contribute quickly.
- Strong delivery focus across application and data engineering work.
- Comfortable in cross-functional engineering environments.
- Upper-intermediate English level.
NICE TO HAVES
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD, and data pipeline operations.
- Experience supporting high-volume enterprise systems.
