We are looking for a Senior Product Manager-Technical to join our team. The Senior Product Manager – Technical at Mastercard plays a key role in our software teams, collaborating with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and development teams to define technical requirements aligned with business goals. The PM-T must develop deep knowledge of Mastercard’s applications and systems to be effective.
Role:
• The Product Manager - Technical will translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications (user stories).
• Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and contribute to our complex platform.
• Exhibit proven expertise and experience in understanding customer needs and business concepts, providing strategic insights, and defining product and customer success metrics and KPIs.
• Design features through prototypes and experiments, decompose requirements into user stories, prioritize the backlog, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the delivery of high• quality products.
• Understand the technical implications and impacts associated with requirement requests.
• Write comprehensive user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Conduct systems impact analyses and provide effort estimates.
• Has experience working with technical teams or stakeholders; direct engineering experience is not a requirement.
• Possess a solid understanding of agile development frameworks such as Scrum and SAFe.
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach, including in unfamiliar situations.
• Facilitate technical requirement reviews and joint application design sessions.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure a clear understanding of user stories.
• Work with quality assurance teams to verify that requirements are met.
• Lead all Scrum ceremonies and planning sessions.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, development teams, and core business units
• Strong technical analysis skills to support complex application design and documentation, including functional, technical, and interface specifications, as well as user stories
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with agile development methodology
• Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation, with a eagerness to learn and take on challenging opportunities
• Energetic, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure in autonomous environments
• Proficient in documenting and understanding business process models
• Knowledge of data modelling techniques and best practices
• Familiarity with the payment industry and its standards
• Proven track record as a product manager for multiple products in the market
• Ability to quickly acquire technical product knowledge, particularly related to security concepts
• Understanding of the product development lifecycle, maturity models, and road-mapping processes
• Experience managing large-scale enterprise initiatives involving multiple impact teams across the organization
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly at both detailed and executive levels
• Skilled in resolving issues and overcoming obstacles efficiently
• Highly motivated and proactive in supporting team and product success
• Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership to meet objectives and deliver results
